Oklan and Jakes' birthday party and Oklans' birthday weekend

So Oklans' birthday was last tuesday the first of september he turned 5, and Jakes' birthday is on the 23rd of september he will be 2. We did another combined party this year because I think it will be the last year we will be able to do it. I turned out really well! oklan invited a couple kids from his class and some of the neighbor kids and also some of our friends kids, there ended up being roughly 15 kids there between the ages of 1 and 8 WOW is all I have to say! Entertaining them for two hours was more work than I thought it was going to be...we ate pizza, played pin the tail on the donkey, opened presents, played relay races, duck duck goose, follow the leader had cupcakes passed out goodie bags and then they were on their way, needless to say we were tired. But then we got to relax and hang out with our friends and family. It was a great night, thank you soooo much to everyone who came we really appreciated it and I know oklan and jake did too!

We also went out to dinner with my mom and dad and nate and suzanne and my nieces and nephew and the kids got to play for a bit after. It was a great weekend and oklan still talks about it ha ha! Happy Birthday Oke! we love you and are so proud of you more and more every day :) I will post Jakes birthday when it comes too :)

The boys' awesome race car cupcake pullapart cake it was so cute and very yummy!

Look at how stinkin cute this bedspread is that my mom (mimi) MADE (yes made) for jake for his birthday. It turned out so cute Jake loves it and loves going to bed every night because of it. I didn't get a picture of the inside but it is silky material that is white with light and dark brown and blue polka dots and he has a little snuggle blanket that matches it that he drags around everywhere. I am so thankful my mom and dad are so caring and thoughtful. My mom is AWESOME at sewing and really anything she tries, and my dad is such a big help and so supportive with everything. They love there grandkids so much and it shows. This is something we will keep FOREVER because it is such an amazing keepsake. I LOVE IT! I love you mom and dad thank you so much (from me and jake :)

My mother and father in-law (gammie and grandpa) got oklan and jake vinyl lettering for there room but I haven't had a chance to put it up yet, when I do I will post pictures as well. It is soo cute she made a bunch of cute sayings and did there names in race tracks and baseballs, and a bunch of sports and cars.Seriousely could we be any luckier? we have the best parents in the world and our kids have the best grandparents who love them so much. All of this along with with tons and tons of toys...sheez they are spoiled! But well deserved they are such good kids :)

That bedspread is beautiful! Mom really is amazing, and you are right we are lucky. You especially have both sides of grandparents that are equally supportive and that is rare. You are blessed! I am glad that they had a good b-day party. It looks like it was well attended. I miss you guys tons! I almost feel removed sometimes, but what do you do. Thank you for posting. I look forward to viewing what is going on with the kids and you guys. It makes living away a smidge easier. Love you guys

That is so fun that you get to do their birthdays together!! I am not much of a party planner, so if my kids had birthdays close to eachother, that would be AWESOME!! You are such a good mommy to do that for them. I love love LOVE that blanket your mom made!!! It is inspiring, maybe I should be just a little bit creative with my kids' rooms...
