THE VIGILS: It's a BLOG day

It's raining outside, my work is done for the day, Oklan is at school and jake isn't feeling well. I'm going to read my book tonight...so I think that updating my blog really is just the best thing to do right now :) It was Oklan's birthday on Sep. 1st and I totally forgot to post about it so that's what you get to read about\see pics of. Also, Jake has grown up so much in the past 6 months that I have so much to post about on him. :)

Every year since Jake has been born we have done combined parties for the boys since their b days are 3 weeks apart and in the same month. So we kind of did that this year but not exactly in the same words... Oke was so cute he wanted to do a combined celebration again this year so cute always thinking of his little brother, I was surprised because he was turning 6 and in the 1st grade so he has felt so big and independent lately but he isn't picky and I think any kind of celebration is good in his eyes (seriously angel child). Oklan got to take a few of his closest friends to nickel cade and Jake just tagged right along and felt like he was totally part of the action so it worked out pretty well. Plus Oklan's friends are so cute with Jake and really include him, so Oklan, Jake, cousin Gage, and friends Mckay and Colby just had a blast playing video and arcade games for 2 hours straight. It turned out really well! Then we all went back to our house for presents, cake and ice cream and to play with the fun prizes they won. Later that night we had our families over for more cake and ice cream. It was nice to do a smaller thing this year, man I don't think I can do big parties every year.. too much work!

Anyway, so Jakes actual birthday is tomorrow the big 3! I will do a birthday post on his actual birthday. :)

Now for Jake:

He has grown up so much! He will seriously talk your ear off, no really he won't stop talking once he starts. It's like my brother Nate put it "it's like you put a quarter in him and he gives you a good hour straight of info." so funny :) It's so cute because he really uses hind hands to explain stuff and sometimes it takes him a minute to get out what he is trying to say I love listening to him he is so explanatory and descriptive.

The other day, he asked me a question and I was like "oh I don't know" and he goes "ya gotta think mom, ya gotta think" I busted up laughing because I know I say that to Oklan when we are doing his homework and here Jake is just catching on and totally understanding what I'm saying.

He still isn't potty trained...totally not into it at all. I would be more concerned if he was starting preschool this year,but since he doesn't start till next year because his birthday is late I figure no pressure, I will try again with him in a couple months.

He LOVES stickers! We got him a couple sticker work books for his birthday and I'm finding more and more stickers all over my house\furniture\clothes\face..whatever he thinks needs a sticker on it I guess :)
