Oklans' Field Trip

I had the pleasure of going with Oklan on his first grade field trip to Red Butte Gardens' a couple weeks ago and it was so much fun! The teacher picked me to ride the bus with the kids down there and back and it was really fun!

There was one part of the tour where the guide took us to an area where there were some edible plants and herbs and things and some of the kids tasted them. It was so funny to see the looks on their faces because most of them were spices and herbs that I'm sure they had never tasted. I was actually really surprised Oklan dared to because he is so funny about that kind of stuff...but he sure did taste it! That is what the top picture is of...funny :)

I have gotten to know a lot of the cute kids in his class since I volunteer once a week in the classroom and it has been a great experience! I know Oklan has really loved me being there also so I figure as long as I have the time to do it and before he gets too old to feel "too cool" to have his mom there so much I will do it as much as possible! I am so happy I am able to do those kinds of things. And will make it a point for Jake as well when he starts school, I think it is beneficial to the child, parent and teacher. Anyway, here are some pictures of the fun we had. :)
