We went to Hawaii the last part of February and let me let you it was AMAZING!! Just the adults in my family went and we left the kids in good hands with other family and some great friends. I'm not going to lie, it was really hard to leave them especially since it was the first time we left all three of them over night, let alone for 6 days! But, they did great and had a ton of fun and we talked to them every morning and night and brought back some cute little souvenirs for them.
Anyway, so we spent our vacation in Honolulu and we stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Waikiki Resort. It was such a nice place and there was a ton to do there. But, since it was all of our first time going we wanted to explore and do some sightseeing. So, the first day we just relaxed on the beach for a little bit then we headed a little further south and went snorkeling. That was so cool! The second day we went to the swap meet to pick up all of our souvenirs while the boys went golfing. Then, that night we went to the Polynesian Cultural center which was cool, but don't think we will be going back.
The 3rd day we went back up to the North Shore to see some turtles, walk around the temple, and get a snow cone. We ended that night with dinner at Duke's which was so fun! And a little bit of shopping. The last day we lounged at the beach and pool for a few hours then headed back to the hotel and pack up since our flight was that night. But before our flight we decided to head up to Pearl Harbor, we didn't have time to do a tour but it was still neat to just walk around and see the little video they had and get some pictures. Then the best part of the last day was when we stopped at this little cove called Paradise Cove because we heard there were turtles there sometimes and since we didn't get to really see any at the other place we stopped, we thought we would just go for a bit. Well, come to find out there were about 6 turtles right in the shallow water and close to the shore! They were so sweet and would just brush right up against our legs. We didn't have swim suits on that day but we didn't care and just got in the water anyway because we did not want to miss out. There was a local there who was really nice and helped us "obey the rules" and gave us some kelp to feed them. It truly was a great way to end the trip. I love my family so much and it was so great to get to share this time with them and bond. It was especially great to share an amazing trip with Ty, we rarely get to go on trips together so we really cherished it and will remember it FOREVER! Of course, we will be going again it is one of the best places I have ever been to!
